Packing Tips for Women Travelers
If you want to travel well, travel light. It really is so much easier if you don’t have to lug heavy, cumbersome luggage around with you. Especially if you are backpacking. Under these circumstances mode of transport is unpredictable. Schedules are usually very flexible. And accommodation may be sketchy to say the least. So do keep certain things in mind when packing for your trip:
- Be ruthless with yourself while packing. Put away that sexy cocktail dress and those stiletto heels. Avoid that lacy negligee. And the frilly blouse. You are not likely to need any of these.
- Carry clothes that are tough and low maintenance. Stick to articles that can be mixed and matched. Do not carry anything that needs to be ironed.
- Forget the perfumes and blushers. Carry your basic toiletries such as shower gel, deodorant and shampoo sachets that are easy to carry and do not leak.
- If you must carry a hair dryer, get a dual voltage one, preferably a travel version.
- Be careful when choosing your footwear. Get tough, durable sneakers. They should be light weight so that you don’t feel the effort of walking after you have been on your feet for a few hours. Also carry a pair of sandals for when you need to rest your feet.
- Carry a soft, light blanket that won’t take up much space. Or a slightly heavy shawl.
- Carry a folder for all your travel documents. It should be neat, easy to pack and easily accessible.
Stick to these basics and you should be all set to take off. Bon voyage!
